History

This home was built for Gershon Rosenwasser in 1945. Gershon was a bachelor and his mother, Annie, moved in with him later in her life. The downstairs bedroom was converted from a garage so that his mother would have a comfortable room without having to climb the stairs.

The house still has many of the original features, like the hardwood floors, large farmhouse sink, shiplap in the laundry area, tile in two of the bathrooms, and the unique large window going up the stairs.

We purchased the house in 2019 and did extensive renovations to preserve the rich history of this house. We are Lockhart natives and remember shopping at Rosenwasser’s years ago. It is indeed our pleasure to open this home to our guests so you can also get a little taste of Lockhart history.
